Alti’s specialized processes produce the highest optical quality components that feature:
Low Birefringence to exceed precision optical quality specifications for clarity and distortion.
Superior Scratch Resistance for long-lasting durability.
Hard coat finishes with the ability to Sonic Weld to other parts yielding material and labor savings opportunities to our customers.
Material Flexibility to meet our customer’s needs.
In-House Decorating- One Source, reduced handling, lead times, and scrap.
Clean Room Environments yield contamination-free parts.
Unsurpassed Quality to meet the needs of the most demanding applications.
Low Birefringence
Our proprietary technology and processes yield stress-free (low birefringence) components. Strain gauges are used to quantify internal stress in molded parts.
Superior Scratch Resistance
The hard coating process is executed in a dust and moisture-free Class 100 Clean Room environment attached directly to the molding machines.
Temperature and humidity are precision controlled to provide a stable manufacturing environment.
Parts are never exposed to particulates that could result in surface contamination.
Ultraviolet curing ensures a consistent and durable anti-abrasive finish. All parts are robotically racked and prepared for decorating or packaging.
A unique feature of our hard coating is its ability to be sonically welded to other components.
Our proprietary hard coating has established the benchmark for one of our OEM customers by exceeding the 4H threshold in the pencil test and passing the wool abrasion test at 5 and 10 pounds.
Sonic Weld
The unique structure of our hard coating allows our components to be sonically welded to other plastic parts. This provides labor and material cost savings opportunities.
Material
At ALTi, we have the capability to work with the appropriate engineered materials to meet the needs of our customers. We have molded products using PMMA, Optical Grade polycarbonate, and Elastomers among others. Material handling is critical in clear lens production. We control every aspect from raw material receiving and quality inspections through proper pre-molding preparation and the molding process.
On-Site Decoration
All assembly and decorating operations are performed in our Class 100,000 cleanroom. Our operation offers the flexibility to meet all decorating requirements. Pad printing offers a clear, versatile, accurate, and competitive option for second surface applications.
Unsurpassed Quality
The Process Controller is the central nervous system of our molding modules. Each unit is linked via a state-of-the-art color screen to a mainframe Statistical Process Controller. This system provides the tools for design and development and production monitoring and maintenance.
Our CIM data acquisition system monitors 8 to 26 process parameters that directly affect quality and productivity. These process parameters are compared to the S.Q.C. limits and if the process deviates, the part(s) are rejected. Real-time S.Q.C. results in 100% Q.C. and zero defects shipping. Our data acquisition system allows us to comply with QS 9000, ISO 9000, and GMP.
High-powered microscopes are used to enhance the visual inspection process to locate part defects.
A Video Comparator is utilized to verify precise product dimensions.
Our Quality Assurance testing laboratory tests parts for impact resistance (where required) and hard coating adhesion and durability compliance.
